Interim Superintendent Named in Altmar-Parish-Williamstown District

On June 8th, the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Board of Education appointed Dr. Jeffrey K. Bryant Interim Superintendent of Schools in the district. He will begin the position on July 1.
“The APW School Board welcomes Dr. Bryant to the APW staff,” said Board President Ernie Peters following the appointment. “We look forward to working with Dr. Bryant to continue to improve all we do for students, and strive to achieve the APW Vison.”
Dr. Bryant comes to the district with more than 35 years of experience in education. He began his career in 1981 as a health teacher with the Oneida City School District before moving to the Camden Central School District where he served as middle school principal, high school principal and superintendent of schools before retiring in 2014. Since his retirement, he has held administrative positions with Madison-Oneida BOCES, high school principal and assistant superintendent at Rome City Schools, and interim superintendent at Central Square and Remsen Central School Districts. In addition, he has taught graduate classes in school administration at SUNY Cortland and Monroe Valley Community College.
He replaces outgoing superintendent Anita Murphy who is leaving to serve as District Superintendent at Capital Region BOCES.
Following his appointment, Dr. Bryant said to the board, “I am excited about being appointed the Interim Superintendent at APW and look forward to representing and working with you until your new superintendent is selected.”
Bryant's goal during his time with the district will be in assisting the BOE, faculty, staff, students and community to support and direct the operations of the school district in continuing to provide quality educational experiences and opportunities for all  students.
