Petitions Available for Board Seats

The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District is accepting petitions nominating Candidates for the Office of Member of the Board.   Such petitions are available at the office of the District Clerk at the A-P-W High School, Parish, New York, between the hours of 8:00 a. m. & 4:00 p. m. and must be filed with the in the office of the District Clerk located in the District Office Wing of the High School no later than 5:00 p. m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 to fill the seats currently held by Michael Hale, Richard McDermott, and Ernie Peters, for the board term of three years and the seat held by Casey Brouse for the remainder of his board term – expiring on June 30, 2019.
Each petition must be directed to the District Clerk, must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the District, and must state the name of the candidate’s seat for which you are seeking election.  Qualifications for board membership are as follows:
--must be able to read & write;
--must be a qualified voter of the district; that is, a citizen of the United States, at
                  least 18 years of age or older, and not adjudged to be an incompetent;
--must be and have been a resident of the district for a continuous and uninterrupted
                  period of at least one year immediately before the election;
--may not have been removed from any school district office within the preceding
--may not be a current employee of the school board; and
--may not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office.
