This is my 16th year with the APW School District, and I hope to spend many more years here working with our wonderful kids--and they truly are wonderful kids. My educational journey began several years ago when I obtained my Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from Jefferson Community College. From there I transferred to Oswego State and obtained my Bachelor's Degree in English Education followed by my Master's Degree in Reading Education K-12. I was awarded my Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in Administration through Oswego as well. I began here as a teacher and spent many years in the classroom as a high school English teacher as well as a few years as the assistant principal at the high school. From there I was the co-principal at the elementary school until last year when I became the sole principal at the elementary school.
I believe our purpose is to prepare students academically, socially, civilly, and emotionally for life in and beyond school. I enjoy corresponding with parents concerning our children. I believe working with parents enhances the success of our kids.
We continue to work on our core instructional program that consists of strategically planned standards based units from which teachers develop their lesson plans. Our priorities for the upcoming school year include data analysis that will yield information that will enable us to have very specific academic plans catered to the needs of individual students. I am looking forward to seeing the positive results of these efforts and looking forward to a future full of growth.
