More than $600,000 in Scholarships Awarded to APW Students: More than $600,000 in scholarships and awards were presented to seniors of Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (APW) Central School District.   The awards were distributed at the school’s annual awards night, where each senior student selects a teacher to read their accomplishments out loud.   Twenty-three students earned honor graduate status, signifying that they had maintained an average of 90 or above for all four years of high school. APW team named Oswego County Envirothon champion: The team from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School have been named Oswego County Envirothon champions during the recent competition held at Camp Zerbe in Williamstown.   Teams of five from eight Oswego County schools competed in the event. The winning team will represent Oswego County at the state level competition at Hobart and William Smith College on May 23-24. APW team named champion at Feats of Clay competition: The team from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior/Senior High School, in only their third year of competing, took home the coveted prize and were declared champions at the annual Feats of Clay ceramics competition held at Onondaga Community College. The competition, which brought schools from all across the region, tested the students’ in Olympic-style competition in categories such as: cylinder stack, mug production, no hands throw, blindfold throw, pot put and highest coiling. JSHS Spring Concert showcases musical talent: The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior/Senior High School Spring Concert was held recently and the event was the perfect opportunity to showcase the musical talents of students at the school. Directors Anthony Veiga (band), MaryAnn Clarke-House (chorus) and Chynna Barry, Kathryn Fathers and Kristen Wood (SignAloud) led jazz ensemble, junior high and high school bands and chorus through a delightful evening of music and entertainment. Metcalf commits to Mercyhurst University with letter of intent signing: Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School Senior Brittni Metcalf has committed to Mercyhurst University where she will play soccer this fall for the D-II school located in Erie, Pa.   Metcalf, will work towards a general education degree at the school, but is also thinking about school psychology in the future.
