JSHS Science Club earns national recognition via energy education project

Several members of the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown JSHS Science Club capped off the school year with an unforgettable trip to Washington, D.C., after earning recognition through the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project.
Earlier this year, students created their "Carnival of Energy," an interactive event featuring energy-themed trivia games for students and staff. After submitting the project to NEED, the club earned the New York State award and was named a national finalist, earning an invitation to the NEED Youth Conference and Awards.
While in Washington, D.C., students attended the conference and explored several Smithsonian museums, national monuments and memorials, the National Zoo and enjoyed a dinner cruise along the Potomac River.
